ATTENTION PENDRAGON ACTORS PAST & PRESENT!
We are reaching out for submissions for "Bite-Size Theatre" - short video recordings of monologues, poems, prose, songs, dance, etc. performed by you and other members of our Pendragon family. The Bite-size Theatre pieces, 1 to 4 minutes in length, are being grouped together by theme or stand-alone, for streaming on Facebook, Instagram, our website and in our newsletter: This Week @ Pendragon.
We would love to involve YOU!
Here are the details:
You decide what you would like to do* - your dream role/monologue, a favorite poem, a song, spoken word, etc.
Record the piece in a format that is easy for you to send.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you are ready to upload the file, and we will send you a link so you can easily upload to a dedicated Dropbox folder.
We will cleverly group your piece with other submissions or use as a stand alone act and present in an online format.
*The pieces need to be in the public domain or legal to perform as copyrighted “fair use”. Some public domain options are: Shakespeare, George Bernard Shaw, Mark Twain, Anton Chekhov, Henrik Ibsen, James Thurber, etc . (Visit https://library.owu.edu/playsinthepublicdomain for some assistance ) Also, as of January 1, 2020, creative works written before 1925 are in the public domain.
Equity actors can participate as long as the performance is recorded, not performed live, and part of a streaming format. SAG & AFTRA may be a different story. Contact us, and we will figure it out more specifically.
Some ideas for themes are: small victories, epiphanies, grief, recovery, plagues, gorgons, food favorites, sports, wild west, gardens, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE …...Give us your ideas!
Mostly, we want this to be fun and to give us an opportunity to reconnect with the many people who have shaped Pendragon Theatre over its 40+ year history. We are very thankful for your past and present contributions. We look forward to future connections with you as we navigate our next 40 years.
Don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.
