This is the first of many posts to keep you up to date on what is happening with the NEW Pendragon!
For nearly 40 years, Pendragon Theatre has been the backbone of theatre in the Adirondacks. From the beginning, we’ve been dedicated to theatre, to education, and to the community. Our new, $7 million theatre will help us play an even more important role in all three, as a lead player in the ongoing revitalization of downtown Saranac Lake. And while our expansion will bring dozens of jobs and thousands of visitors to the village, we’re also bringing something even more elusive: Opportunity. By giving local youth the chance to explore the performing arts year-round, and through expanded partnerships with area colleges that will provide up-and-coming talent with hard-to-find experience, your new Pendragon will plant seeds that will bear fruit for years to come.
We’re not just relocating a theatre. We’re redesigning ourselves. The concept design shows that our $7 million project will add seats, a rehearsal area, improved dressing rooms and production space, and a lobby to display local artists’ works. In real life, it translates to much more than that: We’ll be able to offer higher-quality productions, attract more visitors, and create a destination where arts professionals will actively seek to work. We can keep our love for theatre alive, and help our community at the same time!
Over the next year or so, we’ll have information on the status of the project, answers to questions we hear, as well as information on some of the programs that will be enabled by the new building.
There is always a lot going on, some of it exciting, some of it “just has to be done”. What questions do you have? What do you want to know about? Send a note to email@example.com.

Pendragon Theatre is also very thankful to Senator Chuck Schumer and all of our political leaders who supported and fought for the Shuttered Venues Operating Grant. This grant has helped Pendragon sustain itself this fiscal year
