Happy 2018 to all! January means it is time to think about summer. Choosing a season is a complicated dance balancing art, budget, people, calendar, etc. This year I have been mulling over the notion of theater as a bi-partisan activity and how artists can be edgy and entertaining without being alienating. I would like to believe the reason why theater attracts people of all kinds of backgrounds is ultimately the truths presented on stage transcend ideology by presenting the human condition in all its complexity.
When deciding on the season I wanted to focus on what brings us together- laughter and being heard being two primary unifiers. To that end, we are presenting both the winner and runner-up of our Patrons’ Pick followed by some wonderful dramatic comedies and or course our beloved Camp Pendragon musical.
The 2018 Summer in order of appearance on our stage:
The Love List by Norm Foster
Marjorie Prime by Jordan Harrison
Beauty and the Beast Jr –Camp Pendragon
I Hate Hamlet by Paul Rudnick
Sense and Sensibility adapted by Kate Hamill- the Fall Classic
AND NEW for 2018 - An October Thriller: The Woman in Black by Stephen Mallatratt...followed by Ghost Tales, and stay tuned for further announcements of our 2018 holiday shows!
